Week 12 with Preschool: Saying Goodbye to Autumn

This week in Preschool, we talked more about autumn and its colors. We also talked about winter, and how autumn is preparing for winter. To help the discussion, we read The Tiny Seed.

Speaking of reading, we continued our tradition of reading with 2nd grade in the library. The 2nd grade class really enjoys reading with preschool, and seeing the older students reading so well is very inspiring for our own reading journeys!

To help us begin our reading journey, we played letter recognition games while engaging multiple senses. Through water, sand, and mud, we searched for letters, some familiar and some unfamiliar, and used our critical thinking skills to match the letters. We loved engaging multiple senses for this activity! For videos on mixing sand with water, please check Seesaw.

We also saw a spider in our classroom! We practiced counting its legs, and made connections with another book we read previously, The Very Busy Spider. We were caring towards the spider, and most of us were very brave. But a few of us were understandably a little wary of our eight-legged guest. Maybe soon we can welcome our very own class pet!

We continued our discussion about art and sculptures. 2D verses 3D art, and the class decided they wanted to add colors to the cardboard blocks. Next week we can not wait to create something new with our painted blocks!
