Exploration Atlas
We have been building on our knowledge of the explorers we investigated last week by beginning to create a giant atlas of exploration. We decided that in order to make these more visually stimulating we would add some paper mechanics - students tried different methods to make pop-up and pull-out tabs that contain extra information and pictures. Our aim is to create on big book of all our work to celebrate our learning by the end of term.
Mathematics - multiplication
Grade 4 has continued learning about multiplying numbers into thousands and beyond. First, we made arrays with manipulatives, and then applied our understanding to a grid method of multiplication. We were able to multiply large numbers quickly using this strategy.
