The Library has a new stamp (hanko) to indicate that our books belong to the school.
We have been continuing our reading buddies series. We believe that peer mentoring is a powerful and effective way to promote literacy. The younger students can see what being fluent looks like. The roots of the school community deepen as we work and share together.
3000 Guided Reading books have arrived. Some of these books are in the Library and many are in the classrooms. This series is the Fountas and Pinnell system from Heinemann.
We have implemented a reading program for those who are inclined towards more scholastic activities during recess.
