Grade 3 Week in Review

Grade three has been working hard in Math, Language, Japanese and Inquiry this week.  In Math we are finishing up our unit on Chance.  Students have practiced their skills using dice, decks of cards, coins and colored chips.  Each group had an opportunity to play various games to show their level of understanding.

This week we also worked together during Word Study to help each other study and learn new words.  During Language class we also began learning how to write in cursive!  Its very exciting to try something new for them!

During Japanese class, we have begun to practice our song for the Winter Performance!  Some of our classmates are even playing guitar during the song!

Finally in Inquiry we have been working on reading maps and learning the different symbols on a map.  We began our week learning about symbols we see on various maps and then learning about directions on a map.  We even had the opportunity to work with Grade 2 on their inquiry project about migration! Overall it was a great week in grade 3!
