Grade 6 Goes Back in Time

Time travel may not have been accomplished yet but grade 6 attempted to do our best this week. We traveled back to ancient Greece to compete in our own Olympics between Athens, Sparta and Delphi.

We learned how to build Roman roads keeping them as straight as possible with a home made Groma.

We created art in the style of some of our earliest ancestors. Thanks to Pre-School who collaborated on the Cave Art project.

This was all done as art of our new unit looking at the legacy of ancient Civilizations.

In Maths we have been looking at different number patterns and the Relationship between square and triangular numbers. We also identified different number patterns in a Pascal's Triangle.

Finally, we rounded off the week in the Edo Museum. Students were considering changes in Japan from the earliest civilizations to the Edo Period and again between the Edo Period and Today.
