In inquiry, we have been learning
about the tools and methods of navigation. On Monday, we went to the park and
measured things in centimeters and meters using measuring tape and meter
sticks. When we came back to school, we made maps of the park. On Friday we
went to the park again and completed a scavenger hunt. We used maps and
compasses to help us find cards that had letters on them to break the secret
code.
We are so happy about our
makeover of our Grade 4 classroom! We built shelves and used them to organize
our classroom library. Our new rug, cushions and bins are also part of our new
reading area. It took a long time to build everything, but we had fun doing it.
It was the best time ever!
For our celebration of learning,
we took the song Old Town Road and rewrote the lyrics to be about explorers. We
made props, costumes, and even a dance. We think our families and the school
are going to be very proud of us! In music, we have been practicing Happy and
Totoro with grades 5 and 6 for the celebration of learning as well. Next Monday
we will be rehearsing for the performance at the venue all day.
