Term 2 Week 7 Upper PE
We used our scooters as sleds and the guides could push us very fast.
We have added some more tennis rackets to our collection. We are playing indoor tennis by using the mats as tennis nets. You can see action shots next week!
The children straddled and went over this makeshift vaulting horse.
The students are climbing up the walls these days. We are learning to do handstands and stretch at the same time.

Week 6 Term 2 Upper PE
We have new mats that fold up like briefcases.
We also ordered scooters which have arrived. The children played a game called Spaghetti and Meatballs. The object of the game was for the "its" to use bouncy balls (meatballs) for mobility and tag other students bu throwing a Frisbee. The spaghetti people road scooters and tagged students with pool noodles. Once a person is tagged then they need to do exercise on a mat such as push ups, sit ups and jumping jacks.
We had a kayak race using scooters. The purpose of the pool noodle was to keep the children's hands above the scooter wheels and it acted as a paddle.

Term 2 Week 2 Upper PE
A part of the PYP is being balanced. We have been trying to balance balls on our feet and head.
The brim of the hat helped us to achieve our goal.
Look Mom, no hands!
There is a certain amount of bravado when you achieve your goal!
We can accomplish the task even with a basketball.
We are, however, hoping this balancing act will help us with our soccer skills.

Week 13 Term 1 Upper PE
Some of us played "War Ball" with big, medium and small size balls. If a person got hit with the medium sized ball then he/she needed to be dragged back to their home base and the person could play again. The little balls were used to score in the goals.
Some of the goalies got creative and osculated big balls back and forth to ward away balls.
Grade 5 and 6 are doing a basketball unit. Look at their teamwork!
