Kindergarten - Term 1 Week 12

Another busy and interactive week in Kindergarten!

We have been learning cvc words with 'o' in the middle this week!

We read 'Look at Me!' during shared reading time on the mat. Lots of students were able to read the sentences from the book aloud - amazing! Some brave students volunteered to ask the class questions about certain pages from the book!

In Math this week, we focused on ordering numbers from smallest to biggest.

We even used our research skills to go on an investigation on the street around the school!
The students wrote down the numbers they could see!

We then used our thinking skills to report the biggest and smallest numbers we found, as well as ordering the numbers from smallest to biggest!

The students also ordered the class books and themselves from smallest to biggest!

This also connected to our discussion on human growth stages in Inquiry this week. We start off small as a baby, then grow bigger and bigger!

We discussed each stage and the responsibilities that people have.

Kindergarten also spent some time learning the lyrics to the Winter Performance song. They tried to fit the words together to form the sentences. This allowed them to practice their letter-sound association as they search for the correct words.

Some photos Ms. Anna took from ICT class:

Someone even added to the shopping list in the play kitchen!
