Kindergarten - Term 1 Week 7

This week we continued spelling number words and counting using various different kinds of materials and flashcards. Here are a couple of activities we did:

We linked our counting to our topic of Inquiry by counting the amount of shapes and colours in our countries' flags and the number of letters in our countries' names. This week, we did Brunei, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Hong Kong.

In Language, we had fun racing to see who could write the letters in their books and on the interactive board the fastest. 

I also put some images on the interactive board and the students had to work out which letter to present (for example, 'vampire' = V )

I also instructed the students to do certain actions when I said the letter name or sound.

In Inquiry, we created a poster with 'Hello' in all the languages of the class.

We matched this week's countries to their flags

We also looked at the seven continents, discussed which ones our countries are in, and tried to remember which continent was which. We then did two craft activities about the seven continents.

And finally, we had Show and Tell on Friday!
