Grade 1 Week 7 and 8


What we are learning about in Grade 1

Inquiry: People develop an understanding of the Earth's position through exploration and discovery
Learner Profile: Open Minded
Transdisciplinary Skill: Social Skills (Research skills next week)
Mathematics: Properties of Odd and Even Numbers, finding patterns with odd and even numbers, identifying odd and even numbers in written formats and worded problems, place value.
Reading: Reading Sight words, Reading comprehension, elements of Non fiction books (Title, contents page, facts, information, glossary, diagrams, illustration), Guided Reading
Writing: Writing sight words, Non Fiction writing, factual information reports
Spelling and Vocabulary: Consonant blends, Words Their Way assessments, spelling sight words


Learning about Odd and Even Numbers. Finding patterns and making connections to their own prior knowledge through inquiry learning. 












 Preparing our classroom door for Literacy Week. We read the story of The Three Little Pigs and then the students made houses of straw, sticks and bricks. The Big, Bad, Wolf came to blow the house down!!!
