Grade 4 Week 6

Grade 4 have continued their unit of inquiry on how success and failure strengthen our personal identity by organising and presenting the data that they had collected in the previous week from their fellow students. The children had to decide on the best way to group answers based on open questions into categories. Grade 4 managed to produce a range of graphs and charts as a result - including some pie charts. Children then had the chance to create, conduct and present the findings of a survey of their own choice - which they thoroughly enjoyed making and taking part in.

In our language lessons, we have linked our learning about text structure with research on famous people who have had many challenges in their lives in order to write short biographies about them.  At the same time we have tried to identify the characteristics and traits of people who are able to overcome significant obstacles in order to become successful.  Children have each chosen an inspirational candidate and have begun to draft their biographies based on their research.
