Grade 3 Where We Are in Place and Time

This week during our inquiry block, the students began to think about what they want to learn about the countries around the world.  We started the day on Monday, brainstorming what questions we wanted to ask our parents in regards to their home countries. 

After thinking about their questions, we began to learn about our Lines of Inquiry.  They are:

Form - How we represent place

Change - Representations of place through time

Connection - The relationship of our location to other parts of the world

As a class we discussed what each one meant and then they broke up into groups to illustrate each one.

On Friday during parents morning, the students interviewed parents about their home countries.  They will use the information they learned to help guide them on what they want to learn and research for their country project.
