This is an original idea that stemmed from the SIS Librarian turned into an Art Teacher. Clifford was a big hit with Preschool and Kindergarten. They made scoop toys out of reused plastic bottles, tape, paper and felt. This dog can catch a ball in its mouth.
We also created lilac flowers by binding together cotton swabs and dipping them in paint. The children also stamped paint with styrofoam leaves. The grass is made of thin carpet. By the way, this idea came from Russia.
In Grade 1, we made Japanese bookmarks. Choosing the hairstyle and folding the origami paper was the toughest part.
Grade 2 and 3 did Sumi-e. It is a traditional Japanese brush technique that uses black ink. We used carbon paper to get an outline and then we added color to our own discretion. Some of the pictures turned out wonderfully!
