Grade 2 & 3 Week 3

Our Unit of Inquiry this week has been Sharing the Planet - we have been looking at how important the oceans are for animals and humans alike. Each student picked a sea creature that they were interested in finding out more about and using reliable sources created a short presentation for the class.

In language, we looked at how to write a non-chronological report, and the features of an information text in order to write our own information about our sea creatures. We also read and watched short documentaries in order to find out more about our oceans, the animals that live in them, and the issues facing our bodies of water around the world.

In mathematics this week the class has been reviewing their knowledge of place value and the four operations through games and activities - including using dice, counters and cards.
