In Week 3 of Summer School we dove into some books and learnt about narrative text structures. We identified main parts in the stories and then had a turn at planning and creating our own stories using our "story Mountain" templates.
In Mathematics we investigated measurement and learnt all about measuring height and length using tape measures, weight using different types of scales, and volume and capacity with containers of water.
In Inquiry Grade 1 explored the concept of where we are in space and time. We discussed some major events that have shaped our timelines and imagined a world where dinosaurs were still alive today. Then we blasted off into outer space and set up our very own colony on Mars, complete with all the essentials needed to survive on a new planet.
