PRE-K 5 senses (SIGHT)

We have continued learning about our different senses this week!
Some of our classmates brought sensory toys last Friday from home so we had the opportunity to explore different textured toys together!
Some of them were described as being
Squishy, soft, slimy etc.
This not only helped our children to explore the textures
but also helped them to improve their ways of expressing and their describing words,
and to participate in discussions as a class.

We also continued experimenting with different textured
sensory materials that we made at Developmental Play.
- Water beads
- Colored rice and pasta
- Kinetic sand
- Colorful sand
- Loose parts

We went down to the library on Monday morning and our students had the opportunity
to walk around the library to find a book they'd like to borrow.
We also read a couple of books linking to our Learner Profile!
'INQUIRER'

Friendly Reminder - please place the library book in their library bags on Mondays as well as Wednesdays for them to borrow the next one.

We also focused on our LOOKING sense
and discussed with the class about
'What can you see with your eyes?'
and 'What can you NOT see?'

We also attempted to make our own light box,
which worked out wonderfully!

On Wednesday we made SENSORY BOTTLES
Using different colors of dyes,
putting in different materials - glitters, water beads, baby oil etc
and experimenting what happens when it is placed in a bottle together.
