PRE-K How the World Works

We have started on our new Unit of Inquiry this week with
HOW THE WORLD WORKS!

Our students got together to discuss,
and tuned in to see what we already know.
What can we do with our hands, eyes, ears, mouth and nose?
What are the things we can touch? What can't we touch and why:?

Next week we are going to look into our first sense on 'TOUCH'
and explore lots of sensory, tactile activities.
We have also colored rice and pasta today in the afternoon
to play with next week once it dries!
(photos will be uploaded on next week's blog)

We would very much appreciate if you could pop into your closest
100yen shop/other stores to pick up one 'sensory item' of your child's choice
to bring on Friday next week. This could be...
play-dough/slime/squishy balls/sand/clay etc
for the children to have different types to explore together.

MATH   Guess How Many ____ in the Bag?
Students tried to guess how many (marbles/stones/buttons etc) there are in the bag and they wrote the number they think and their name on a post-it.
When they were finished, they counted it and re-wrote the answer they think
on their post-it with red pen.

We also tried Counting by 2s (2,4,6,8,10...),
lot of the students did amazingly well!

We all enjoyed our new Jigsaw Puzzles
and worked together as a team to complete them!

Our favorite song-book of the Month
'The Ants Go Marching'

We also enjoyed a little bit of Yoga together this week...

We would like to thank Grade 5 so much
for taking the time to go to the Library to pick up books for our
Pre-K students for Buddy Reading time!
They absolutely loved reading the new books together.
