How we express ourselves

We have started our new unit, how we express ourselves. To begin, we looked at which activities made us feel happy and which didn’t. We all seemed to like painting and drawing because it makes us feel happy.

Later in the week, we looked at some art books. We wondered why some of these artists chose to express themselves through painting.

When we looked at the paintings, I asked how they made you feel when you looked at them, so children said it made them feel happy. In particular, we looked at Picasso, Kandinsky and Jackson Pollock.
