For Math, Grade 3 and 4 have been working together to create cooperative learning groups that help to meet the needs and levels of all students. The students become both learners and teachers as they work in groups using prior knowledge and the strengths of each other to develop stronger understandings. It has been challenging for the students, but in the end I hope they will not only learn about the Math, but also about themselves as learners and develop the skills to resolve conflicts and be an active participant as a group member working towards a goal.
