Grade 5 and 6 talked about the Key Concepts of our Who We Are unit as related to our lines of inquiry. We want to make connections by asking ourselves how rights are viewed globally. We'll be looking at the concept of function and seeing how rights are granted. Then, the class will be exploring the concept of responsibility and seeing that actions need to be taken to protect rights.

We wondered what a "safe space" was. Some people thought it had no wars or guns. Others felt like it was a fair place. One person wrote that it is protected from danger. Another child wrote that it was empty perhaps because it doesn't exist. For sure, it would be happy place!
