Grade 1 - Taking Action

One of the five essential elements in PYP is action, which is an expectation in the PYP that successful inquiry leads to responsible, thoughtful and appropriate action. We had students from our class as well as a student from Grade 2, that took action to bring in different maps they found.

Today Grade 1, 2, and 3 had the opportunity to visit the local Shinagawa festival and see the omikoshi being carried by students from Jonan Elementary School. International-mindedness is central to the IB mission and a foundational principle to its educational philosophy; it is at the heart of the continuum of international education. An IB education creates learning communities in which students can increase their understanding of language and culture, developing as successful communicators with the skills needed for intercultural dialogue and global engagement.
