We attached straws to the cardboard and then we will connect strings to make the fingers move just like tendons!
In Math, we went over analog clocks using fractions. The children learned that a quarter is a 1/4 of something. The students found out that quarter past nine is equal to 9:15 and that 9:30 is the same as half past 9. So, 9:45 is equal to quarter to 10.
We played a fraction game called "Spilt Milk" using gallons (whole), quarts (1/4), pints (1/8) and cups (1/16). This game was good for number sense, understanding fractions, and standard units of liquid. We found out that 1 pint is equal to 2 cups, 1quart = 2 pints or 4 cups and that 1 gallon = 4 quarts or 8 pints or 16 cups.
During the game, we rolled the die to find out how many fractions we were allowed to put down. The object of the game was to place the fractions down to exactly cover the whole.
We have been trying to organize our possessions better when we go to Library class.
The children looked at some word problems and used algebraic thinking.
Eren focused on the attitude "creativity" and summarized the story "Smile, Crocodile, Smile."
