We looked at religious communities and some of the values and beliefs of different religions. The children drew different places of worship and then researched some of the teachings on peace and charity.
We also began considering community through the idea of nation. The children drew country flags and then used computers to research some information that they could include in a description. This will feed in to my activity next week, which will take a broader look at world geography and different peoples.
We continued to practice literacy and numeracy skills. In literacy the focus has been on understanding parts of speech - verbs, nouns and adjectives and also ensuring the children write using full stops and capital letters. In maths, we are still working on addition and subtraction.
