Grade 1 Week 15- An end to Term One 😢


Thank you to the students for completing their work and having an enthusiastic attitude to the end of Term One. We hope you have a safe and relaxing Winter break- stay safe, stay warm and we look forward to all the news when you get back to school for Term Two!

What we are learning about in Grade 1

Inquiry: People develop an understanding of the Earth's position through exploration and discovery
Learner Profile: Open Minded
Transdisciplinary Skill: Communication Skills- creating an informative non fiction poster
Mathematics: Days of the Week, Months of the Year, Seasons of the Year, Months of the Seasons, Telling time to the hour and half hour. Connection: Calendars and seasons 
Reading: Reading comprehension, finding information in Non fiction books (to inform), Guided Reading
Writing: Writing Non Fiction posters using factual information 

Winter Break Action:
Remember if your child or family does anything exciting over the Winter Break and would like to share with the class, you can email photos to mminos@sistokyo.jp and we can share them when we return to school. It can also be a great writing prompt for your child or the class. Thanks!
