Grade 2 Celebration of Learning

Thursday was our Celebration of Learning. Students were excited to show their parents what they have been working on this term. Grade 2 students were involved in dance ASP, recorder performance,     and a Frog and Toad performance in Japanese. They have shown that they can be balanced in their learning by taking part in different activities and learning.

For inquiry, students showed off their water color paintings of old and new Tokyo. They also showed off their skills as architects and builders by designing and creating a model of a school. They had to think about where the school was going to be built, the resources available in that environment, building shape, and the needs of the school. They did a great job and had a blast!

Grade 2 has  been working on a time unit in math. This morning they did a telling time activity with classmates and parents. Parents also took part in the ICT class and some were more excited than the students!

On Friday, it was No Uniform Day. Students who took part donated money to an organization called Because I am a Girl which supports rights and equality for girls. As a class, we talked about how some girls can't go to school and do things like they do. It was an eye opener for them.
