This week Grade One began our new unit of inquiry, How We Express Ourselves. For this inquiry we will be looking at people use signs and symbols to express themselves.

| This week we have been learning to express our thoughts, feelings and ideas without words. We have also been learning about shapes in math, so it seemed natural to use shapes to create works of art that express an emotion, such as love, happiness, excited, and surprised. After choosing an emotion, we used squares, rectangles, circles, and triangles to express the emotion in a picture. Please stop by the Grade One classroom to see our work. |
