Grade 5/6: Week 18: How We Express Ourselves

This week we have continued with our new inquiry. Students have been learning about how positive and negative stereotypes can result in prejudice and discrimination. In this unit, we will be looking into how our personal choices affect others, how we communicate our ideas and identity, and public perceptions on personal presentation.

In language, we are working on persuasive techniques in writing. Students have been researching different advertisements to identify the choice of language that is used to create emphasis and appeal to the reader.

We have finished creating our clay monster sculptures, and will be painting them next week. They will be displayed at the biennial art exhibition.
