Grade 6 Week 11 Where We are in Time and Place

Today we warmed up to run our weekly marathon.
Everyone exhibited an appreciation for exercise! Grade 5/6 ran about 10 laps in 5 minutes. We are close to our goal of 50 points and getting a "free" homework assignment.
We had an exchange activity with Jinsho. Our group played cards before the undertaking.
Grade 5/6 has been working with the Japanese teachers to find the United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage sites in Japan. The children found out that the United Nations picks places around the world for the purpose of preserving their history and culture.
Our class showed their curiosity and took a virtual field trip to the Japanese World Heritage Tomioka Silk Factory in Gumma prefecture.
For our "Open House," we played Jeopardy with Grade 5 (Inca Civilization from Peru) competing against Grade 6- Germany. In the Final Jeopardy round the contestants could be a risk taker and wager all of their earnings to double their score.
