Grade 5: First week back!

What a great start to the year we've had in Grade 5. We've jumped straight into it this week.  As part of our 'Who we are' unit of inquiry, we have been tuning in to what rights and responsibilities are.

We began by comparing examples of class agreements from around the world, which the children noticed were very similar. 'Were they from the same school? The same country? Part of the same project?' they inquired. 'They are just doing what is right.' But who decides what is right?

After reviewing the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the IB learner profiles, the children discussed what they believed were essential agreements for Grade 5. Have a look and see if you agree.

  

The children have come up with so many questions and areas of interest surrounding the topic. We're very excited to see where they will lead us...
