Compasses are the most important tool that explorers use. Compasses tell us directions. They are also magnets and react to the Earth's magnetic field. During Science Week, we made a compass out of a magnet, styrofoam, and red and blue tape. Red signifies north and blue means south.
We saw what materials stuck to magnets.
The children explored how magnets can follow a path and go through a maze.
We learned that magnets have fields.
This magnetic force and field can infinitely spin a top and levitate objects.
Grade 1 has been making weather maps and giving forecast to show how the world works with changes in the sky.
