Grade 4 Year End Performance

This is the Grade 4 Year End Performance entitled "The Basketball Challenge".  It is a play adapted from a story about success, challenge and failure that a Grade 4 student wrote! Enjoy!

Last day

Today, was our last day at school. As a team, we spent the last hour working together to get our class shipshape and Bristol fashion.
Because, we all worked together, it made the job so much easier.

Celebration of Learning & End of the Year!

Hello friends!

It has been an amazing four months since becoming your teacher!  You have all worked so hard in Math, Language, and Inquiry.  Thank you for welcoming me into your classroom and school.  I have seen you all grow and mature in these short four months.  Some of us will move back to our home countries or go to a new school but everyone will have special memories from JIES.

Here are some pictures from the last day of school and from Celebration of Learning for you to enjoy! Today we said good-bye to Jinsho this morning and ended the day saying good-bye to each other!  Have a wonderful summer and I hope to see some of you next year!

I am the earth.

We practiced really hard and put in a lot of effort.
We really hope all the parents enjoyed our performance.

Grade 1 Week 11 Term 3 How We Organize Ourselves

Happy belated Father's Day! We had some better behaving bus people!

We took a compressed facial mask and a magical capsule and learned about osmosis.

The facial mask quickly expanded and the magical capsule took a longer time.

Here are the before and after pictures of this Science experiment.

The capsules yielded sea creatures.

We recorded the transformation in our Science books.

We have been looking into keeping our community safe with dogs.

For our celebration of Learning, we made dog masks! 1st Grade will be singing "It is "Ruff, Ruff, Being a Dog."

We found out that people spent 138 Billion Yen on their pampered pets in Tokyo, Japan in 2018. Have you seen those small, cuddly and cute dogs with big eyes in pet stores? You can buy them for as much as a used car. Did you know that many of these unsold pet store dogs are put to sleep forever when their cuteness wears off and nobody buys them? This is called a puppy mill where profit is placed above the well being of the dog. Grade 1 came to the conclusion that people should adopt dogs. We asked the question, “How pets are organized in our community?”
