With the end of the year rapidly approaching the children
have been busy finishing the projects that they are working on. They have put
in a really good effort and they have done really well.
The migrations projects are nearly completed. The children
have been finishing writing and researching and all of the work is being
collated to be published in a small, colourful book. The children should be
really proud of their work.
We have also continued to practice for our end of year
performance. The singing is coming along really well. The pictures for the
t-shirts have all been printed and so the costumes should soon all be
completed. We have also started working on some decorations for the stage, so
the performance should look really good.
This week we also had a school trip to the Japanese Overseas
Migration Museum in Yokohama. The children could learn about the first migrants
who left Japan, thinking about why they went
and the lives that they had when they started living in other countries.
The children were keen to see the exhibits and they worked really well on the
small worksheets that were prepared for them.
There was also kodomo
matsuri on Friday. The event went
really well. Together with grade 4, grade 2 organized a mini golf course,
complete with buildings, a pond and a ramp. The event was really popular. We
had lots of people from JIES come to play, as well as children from Jinsho.
Thanks for your hard work.
