Preschool- Tokyo Toy Museum Field Trip

We started the week off with a field trip to The Tokyo Toy Museum where everyone made their own toy. The students enjoyed seeing toys from different generations, and every room had different themes. The museum was perfect for our preschoolers!

We had a lot of fun learning about zip lines, and using letters with the zip line. The teachers held a string, and the students sent a letter down one by one. A is for apple! It was a great way to practice letter recognition. Along with literacy, we also read with 2nd and 4th graders this week. We love sharing our classroom with older students!

Finally, we have been preparing for our performance on Monday. We created our capes and hats, and we can not wait to show off our hard work! See you on Monday!

Grade 6 Week Beginning 12/9

Last week of 2019 in Grade 6. We have been busy preparing for a presentation about Ancient Civilizations over the last number of weeks. This week, students, finally got to share all the information that they had researched and prepared for a presentation. Grades 4 and 5 learned a lot about history and they had the opportunity to do some activities inspired by the presentations like writing their initials in Egyptian Hieroglyphs or reading some comics about Asterix the Gaul.

Grade 4 were kind enough to return the favor for us and planned a treasure hunt for us in the park to share what they had learned during their unit about explorers and navigation.

To mark the end of the calendar year we shared our understanding about the different key concepts. Some students decided to make some chocolate sweets to show their understanding of the key concept causation.

 Grade 2 Non-Native Japanese group!

We did interview to teachers in Japanese!

We made short story of teacher migration.

We did presentation about our short story in Japanese!!

Students practice a lot about  interview and they remember all questions in Japanese.

They went to ask in Japanese by themselves.

They create each teachers' story about migration and draw the pictures.

They did presentation in Japanese in front of Native Japanese group students.

I believe this experience will help them to have more confident and fun to speak in Japanese!

They did really really great!!

We had so much fun exploring all the different toys at the museum,

and making our own airplane at the workshop.

We talk about how we felt before going to the museum,

then discussed how we felt when we came back!

Most of the students were super tired when we came back to school,

however it was so worth spending a busy time with 

all our friends at the museum together!

Also we would like to thank Yuna and Nina's mum 

for coming and helping out on the trip!
