Chinese lanterns



During, our inquiry into, how we express ourselves, we learned how to make lanterns. 


We worked carefully in our groups, which also taught us how to work well with others and collaborate. We had to take great care cutting and assembling our lanterns, but in the end, I think we all did a great job. 






















Grade 3 Term 2 Week 19 - How We Express Ourselves

This week we had Japanese Cultural Day. Students were able to experience different aspects of Japanese culture.










Grade 2 Term 2 Week 4 : How We Express Ourselves

 This week we expressed our feelings through painting, sculpture, and Haiku.




























In Math this week we looked at 3D objects. We practiced identifying the top, front and sides of different 3D shapes. In groups the students build 3D models with blocks and drew the front of each object on graph paper. 

Grade 5/6 Week 4- How we express ourselves



In inquiry, we have been working on our animation movies. Firstly, we uploaded all the photos to the movie maker software. Secondly, we selected the appropriate background musics to match with the animations. After that, we recorded our voice and added it to our movie as narration. Our animation movies represent the life experiences of  famous artists(Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet) and how they were affected by their experiences to create their art pieces. In addition to this, we completed our reflection for our picture of happiness. This week, we have started to write our reflection for the picture of sadness by using more technical words such as pattern, positive space, shading, shape, size, radial balance, dominant element, asymmetry. We are looking forward to celebration of learning to share our works with our families and friends.



In Grade 6, we determined a rule, in words, to describe a pattern presented in a table and calculated the value of a missing number in number sentence. In Grade 5, we selected the appropriate measurement to calculate the area. We also interpreted scales on maps to calculate distances.
