Grade 4: Week 6 Who We Are - Fixed vs. Growth Mindset Case Study
Grade 4 conducted their case study this week with Grade 4, 5 and 6 being their interview subjects. They were all very excited to take on the responsibilities of being and interviewer or a recorder, and were using their research skills such as, observing, recording data, collecting data and organizing data. Next week, we will check back with the interview subjects to see how they are doing with the challenge. The next steps will be to try and analyze the data to reach conclusions, see if we were able to answer our initial question and see if our hypotheses were correct. Grade 3 Week 6 Who We Are
This week one of our students got the school bus award!
In language class, we did some revision about nouns and found some using stories.
It was also Health Day on Tuesday, so students had the chance to try different types of exercises in the gym.
During inquiry, students have located an issue in the classroom that stops us from learning our best. This week, students have created ways to find out why the problem they have chosen is happening in the classroom and what effect it has on our relationships with each other.
Some students asked others why they think the problem is happening, how it affects them, and what they think can be done to fix it.
Some students gathered their information by observing others interacting.
Next week, students will need to put their findings together so they can come up with a way to help us solve the problem in the classroom!

Grade 2 Week 6 : Who We Are
This week the Grade 2 students worked in groups to interview people in our school to find out more about their roles at JIES.
"In art we learned about puppets. We made lots of different puppets; finger puppets, Marionette puppets, and sock puppets. We had lots of work and fun. We very enjoyed it. We made puppet shows for Grade 1 and Kindergarten. "
