Learning about our faces.

Making our classroom agreement

Grade 4 - First Week of School

In Grade 4, we have been spending the first week of school getting to know each other and the classroom routines better.  On the first day of school, everyone introduced themselves to the rest of the class by sharing where we come from and some of our favorite places on Google Maps.

We also spent time collaborating on the 4th Grade "Essential Agreements".  After everyone shared what they felt would be good ways to act in order to have a positive classroom environment with the goal to learn, we narrowed down our agreements to three things; 1. Be responsible for yourself and your things.  2.  Respect and care for everybody and everything.  3.  Work hard and do your job.

We also had a fun building challenge to get everyone communicating ideas together in groups and help build friendships, unity and friendly competition in our classroom.  The challenge was to build a structure as high as they could using only spaghetti noodles and marshmallows that would also be able to survive an earthquake.  Here they are in action!
