Grade 3 Science Museum Field Trip

On Friday, grade 3 students had the opportunity to go to the Science Museum in Chiyoda.  There the students learned about how buildings are constructed to withstand natural disasters like Earthquakes and Tsunamis.  In our current unit, How the World Works, students are studying the effects natural disasters have on our way of life.  The research that the students did at the museum will help them to complete their final project for Celebration of Learning.

After exploring the construction side of the museum, students had the opportunity to look around at other exhibits including optical illusions and mechanics where students had to use their muscles to try to lift a car or a heavy metal ball!  They had a wonderful time at the museum.
