This week in Grade 6

This has been a busy short week for us in grade 6. We have practiced for our Sports day this weekend and are hoping for good weather so we an have an enjoyable and energetic day. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Sports day Rehearsal
In our unit we have discussed peer pressure and some of the worries that pre-teens and teens face including test anxiety, fitting in, family relationships, friendships and stress. We researched and shared some useful strategies to dealing with them such as mindfulness; maintaining open lines of communication with parents, teachers and guardians; and choosing honest and supportive friends. The most important thing is to look after your S.E.L.F.

Elsewhere, students have been getting frustrated and developing their problem solving math skills with some puzzles which may appear easy but once tried require some thought process and trial and error of different strategies. See if you can do any better, click the link to the nRichmaths.org website and try solve the puzzle yourself!
