It has been a busy but fun
first week back after the Christmas break. The children started thinking about
their new unit of inquiry: How we express ourselves. For the first week, the
children focused on visual arts, sculpting and painting.
The children have made some
beautiful paper sculptures. After looking at the technique to create the
sculptures, the children made their own designs using colours of their choice.
They should be very proud of their work.
We have also considered
different forms of self-expression and the children made pictures to express
different feelings and emotion. Their work has is accompanied by a short piece
of writing to explain their thoughts.
In math, after a long break,
it seemed appropriate to give the children the chance to refresh their memories
on the basic math functions and so we have spent the week putting in some
valuable practice.
